Simple Sautéed Tofu Cubes

Soft, savory, and full of flavor—no frying, no fuss.

Tofu doesn’t have to be crispy to be delicious. Sometimes you just want something warm, lightly seasoned, and satisfying without all the bells and splatter. These sautéed tofu cubes are tender on the inside, golden on the outside, and soak up flavor like a sponge. Perfect for tossing into bowls, stir-fries, or enjoying as a plant-based protein side.

Ingredients

  • 1 (14–16 oz) block extra-firm tofu

  • 1 tablespoon olive or avocado oil

  • 1 tablespoon Bragg’s Liquid Aminos (or tamari/soy sauce)

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for a warm depth)

  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Press the tofu
Drain the tofu and pat it dry with paper towels. No need for a full press—just blot out extra moisture so it can lightly brown in the pan.

2. Cube it
Slice the tofu into bite-sized cubes, about ¾ to 1 inch. No need to be precise—just aim for similar sizes so they cook evenly.

3. Sauté
Heat oil in a nonstick or ceramic skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and sauté for 2–3 minutes per side, gently turning until lightly golden and warmed through.

4. Season
Drizzle with Bragg’s Liquid Aminos and sprinkle with garlic powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of sea salt. Toss gently and cook for another 1–2 minutes.

5. Serve or store
Serve warm—or let cool and store extras in the fridge. They make a great quick protein snack the next day!
