- 1 bunchĀ fresh asparagus (about 1 lb), ends trimmed

- 1/4 tspĀ black pepper
- 2 clovesĀ garlic, minced (orĀ 1/2 tspĀ garlic powder, optional)
- 1/4 cupĀ grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbspĀ fresh lemon juice
- Lemon zestĀ (optional, for garnish)

1. Ā Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven toĀ 400Ā°F (200Ā°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Ā Prepare the Asparagus:
- Rinse and trim the tough ends of the asparagus.
- Arrange the asparagus in a single layer on the baking sheet.
3. Ā Season the Asparagus:
- Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and minced garlic (orĀ garlic powder if using).
- Toss gently to coat evenly.
4. Ā Roast:
- Roast in the preheated oven forĀ 12-15 minutesĀ until the asparagus is tender and slightly crispy on the ends.
- In the lastĀ 2 minutesĀ of roasting, sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the asparagus and return to the oven until melted.
5. Ā Add Lemon:
