Personal growth, mindset transformation, and optimizing health have been at the core of my journey. Growing up as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) in Brooklyn, I experienced the world more intensely—easily overstimulated by the city’s fast pace and deeply attuned to subtleties others often missed. This sensitivity shaped my path, and made me keenly aware of how our environment, habits, and mindset impact our well-being.
In my search for answers, I was often labeled with anxiety or ADHD—yet the typical approach of prescribing medication never felt quite right. Seeking a fresh start, I left the hustle of NYC for a relaxed beach vibe in San Diego, California, where I eventually earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in clinical psychophysiology, functional medicine, and biofeedback. Teaching these strategies to others became as healing for me as it was for them.
My Career & Experience
My wellness career has taken many twists and turns. As a health educator and biofeedback practitioner, I helped clients manage chronic pain. I worked on virtual reality research for fear of flying and collaborated with medical experts on Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) development. I also managed a team at a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
Then I transitioned to the corporate world. For 16 years, I thrived in a fast-paced global career—until life hit me with a tsunami of challenges. Like many women at midlife, I experienced hormonal swings, intense work demands, organizational changes, complicated family dynamics, and the weight of caregiving for my mom. My days were fueled by countless cups of coffee, and my evenings often ended with wine. When I looked in the mirror, my reflection looked worn down.
After stepping away from my career to care for my mom full-time in NYC, I struggled after her passing, and it manifested in my body. I gained 40 lbs, developed chronic back pain, battled gut issues, sudden high blood pressure, panic attacks, and poor sleep. With work and purpose on pause and without having the proximity of friends, I felt socially isolated and somewhat invisible—finding myself turning to wine more than I should.
My Turning Point
When my lab work and blood pressure went off the charts, I knew something had to change. I decided to ditch the wine for a while and focus on getting back in shape. With some hesitation, I joined an 8-week body transformation challenge for women over 40–committing to structured workouts, meal prep, and quality sleep. It wasn’t easy, but I won in the way that mattered most: I showed up for myself, and the results were pretty amazing.
In just a few weeks, I slept better, eliminated acid reflux, improved my blood pressure (now 115/75), and saw remarkable changes in my lab work. I lost some weight (still more to go), built lean muscle, and most importantly, regained my energy, confidence, and a renewed sense of control over my health.
Why I Created Life’ing Over 50
I’m back in the functional medicine space because I’m passionate about helping women become the best version of themselves. I believe that women over 50 can—and should–redefine aging and reclaim their power and health through mindset shifts, strength training, proper nutrition, and science-backed strategies.
As Ernest Hemingway said, “True nobility is being superior to your former self”
Join me at Life’ing Over 50 to become stronger, healthier, and more resilient than yesterday.
